  2. I noticed that soon you will be creating a communication tool/medium for sharing information with the teachers. I know this part of your plan will be key as you will rely on the communication throughout your plan. Will the communication be open for all, like on a discussion board? Are you just leaning toward e-mail? Your plan looks very organized and thorough.

    1. Right now the communication is done totally by email. I would like to get to a point where a google doc is used and I set up a shared drive that all stakeholders can view and update in real time. The problem comes when you have teachers at varying levels of technology understanding. This is, of course, an issue that is dealt with at every campus in this day and age. Our newer teachers have so much technology knowledge and our teachers with 15+ years experience may not feel as comfortable. It's definitely going to be a challenge but I'm looking forward to it.

  3. Great Idea... we have absolutely no communication with our home bound teacher and it is very frustrating! Especially when the student has accommodations that need to be met for mainstreamed students. I am interested to see what you find that works for everyone to use! Using some forms of technology for absolute communication can be tricky with the parents in a community with a high rate of poverty, as where I work. What are your demographics?

    1. Our district is very big, so I serve 50+ campuses. We have varying levels of economics in our district. It hasn't been an issue yet, but as those barriers arise we find alternate ways to send the communication. If it has to be mailed home each week to parents then I guess I would do that or I would print a copy and leave it with the parent. The most important communication that needs to occur is with the classroom teacher and email is the best way to do that.
